I'm finally here, Quebec City! 3 flights, all delayed with mis-connects, stubbed in planes, changed terminals and even a canceled leg... but I'm here! And on the flip side, chased the sun. Saw it rise and set, met really nice people, seats jossled to exit rows, let alone empty rows... and frys with gravy is a thang! I packed with lots of patience and now excited to see an amazing ship tomorrow! Tonight, a great hotel room with a view! Can't wait to see this view during the day! More to come...

Yesterday morning exploring Quebec City before heading to the ship. What a fantastic city! The architecture, quaint streets, history, friendly locals, folks cross country skiing in any areas they can, heated igloo popup cafés and seeing the beautiful Fairmont Hotel! Next stop... ship!

Ponant's Le Commandant Charcot

The world's first electric hybrid icebreaker ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). Able to reach the unteachable places, going to extreme polar regions. The only passenger ship in the world with a PC2 classified hull. Cutting thru 15 feet of ice, not a problem! Sailing for science, luxury, environmentally friendly, leading experts, expedition experience, this ship is an extraordinary dream!

The entry level stateroom is the Prestige stateroom. It's 215 sq ft, private veranda, butler service, stocked bar, glass window peak out while in the shower/bathroom, 24 hour room service and king bed! Beautiful, modern, technology forward including Bose Bluetooth speaker.

The Le Commandant Charcot has a total of 123 stateroom & suites, so maximum guest is 200 and crew is 215. The inside design is modern and luxurious. I loved the large windows on each floor from bow to stern, the ability to watch the world. Brilliant spa, with heat & ice rooms, indoor swimming pool, drinking produced onboard using Nordaq technology enabling bottling in glass containers. Outdoor heated pool via recovery technology, along with outdoor heated benches, expedition landing centers to dress and store boots, and even a science center and 2 labs, taking researchers to places hard to reach.

Dinner at Nuna Gastronomic Restaurant, Alain Ducasse's only restaurant at sea! Being a French flagged ship, the question of having only French cuisine comes up often. The menu has a great blend of options and we sampled so many wonderful dishes! Highly recommend!

New friends, new destination, and most of all an amazing ship! Ponant (expedition or ocean cruising), Paul Gauguin (Tahiti), or Aqua (Amazon and Southern Asia river or exotic regions ocean) all under the Ponant family. If interested, I have unique offers I'll be able to extend.
