He is a native of England & has been a travel consultant for 35+ years, 15 of which have been with Bon Voyage Travel. Pete has also worked for the airlines, travel agencies and the British government. Pete is a member of the International Airlines Travel Agent Network, a Certified Travel Counselor with the Travel Institute, and an Accredited Cruise Counselor with the Cruise Lines International Association. Pete's honors include three consecutive years on Travel + Leisure magazine's list of top 125 United States travel agents, five years in Bon Voyage Travel's Summit Club for exceptional sales and service, and an Excellent Customer Service commendation from Virtuoso Travel, a worldwide affiliation of upscale travel agents, cruise lines, and tour companies. Pete continues to be a Host for Signature Travel Network escorting cruise groups.
Dream Trip: A South American and Antarctic adventure. Pete would work with Lindblad Expeditions, a tour company that provides educational and adventure travel. Pete would start with a visit to Machu Picchu, the ancient Incan ruins in Peru's Andes Mountains. "It's a very spiritual, serene environment," he says. He'd cruise the coast of Chile on the way to the Chilean Fjords, 800 nautical miles of glaciers, blue-white icebergs and intertidal wildlife around the country's southernmost region that's part of Patagonia. Lindblad provides Zodiacs and kayaks for up-close views of the terrain and wildlife, as well as access to small inlets into the infrequently visited areas of the continent's tip. Pete wants to end up on the White Continent, the cold, quiet land at the bottom of the world. He'd take advantage of Lindblad's daily excursions into the Antarctic Peninsula and surrounding islands to take a Zodiac through iceberg fields and walk among the penguins. "I would get cold just to experience that continent," he says. "It is so unspoiled." He wonders at the geologic features, which are as old as the beginning of life on earth. "It's the ultimate trip, in my book."
